The OpportunityWe are currently seeking an Intergrated Remote Operations Control Centre (iROC) Operational Leads to join our iROC Control Center team in Sudbury, Ontario. As an iROC Operational Lead, you will be working on a 5 - 4 12-hour shift schedule, days and nights. These are permanent - full time positions within our Mining & Milling team. As an iROC Operational Lead, you will monitor, develop and support the execution of planned work across our integrated mining and processing operations by collecting and analyzing real-time data, prioritizing critical work and recovery plans and assisting our frontline workforce at site to drive our mining operations productivity and safely.Additionally, in this position you will:
  • Monitors the 24/7 progress of all in-shift activities including delays, equipment breakdown, mine heading status and task start and end time. Interacts and provides guidance to frontline leaders and frontline workers.
  • Prioritizes and creates action plans for execution teams to achieve shift rotation and daily shift targets to drive plan compliance.
  • Works closely with the assigned plant leadership teams to react to unforeseen events by providing recommendations to priorities/planned work through iROC's real-time visual line of sight (data) to deliver on divisional results.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with support groups (e.g. Maintenance, Mines Technical Services, Engineering) as required for mine plan development and execution.
  • Oversight for assigned plant on divisional planned work, safety systems, data analytics and reporting, and understanding how core business activities (value drivers) impact safety, production and cost at site. Maintain and manage current and next-shift schedules for crews based on progress and in-shift variances, including the addition of urgent work
  • Ensure planning, scheduling and execution processes at site sustainably follow MOS and remain continuously integrated with iROC resulting in safe mine productivity increases for our Vale's North Atlantic Operations.

About YouEducation:
  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a related discipline
Experience:
  • 8+ years of underground mining, planning, and scheduling, project management or maintenance experience is preferred.
Skills:
  • Strong organizational, leadership, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability influence without authority.
  • Takes initiative and is able to self-direct to accomplish goals with minimum supervision.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products
