Job Description:
Supervisors will provide uniformed security supervision for all contract guards working at various High Profile Corporate Location(s) in Brampton facilities, properties, assets and events. Supervisors will support the Team Lead and Security Services management with various duties and assignments. Shift Supervisors may also conduct proactive patrols and respond to incidents at Parks, Transit facilities, Recreation facilities, Libraries, Fire facilities, Public Works facilities, and any other properties owned, operated or managed by the High-Profile Corporate Location(s) in Brampton.
Major Responsibilities of the Supervisor Includes.
  • Ensuring guards assigned to work at the city meet the mandatory skill set required to work at the assigned location
  • Ensuring guards assigned to work at the City are licensed, have the completed the required training and are in proper uniform
  • Arranging and reviewing site specific training with contract security guards
  • Performing random checks of guards to ensure their knowledge and performance meet City expectations
  • Responding to major incidents ensuring guards respond and document their observations, findings and actions appropriately
  • Reviewing incident reports submitted by guards to ensure clarity and accuracy
  • Initiating disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Completing daily briefs to Security Services Management and other personnel
  • Completing patrols with the use of an electronic guard tour software
  • Performing other related duties assigned by the city
Job Requirements
  • Minimum Two (2) year Security Guard experience in a municipal government or corporate environment would be an asset.
  • Minimum three year of Supervisor experience is preferred
  • Post-Secondary education in a related field would be an asset.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills + Customer Service Skills
  • Must possess a valid Security License for the Province of Ontario
  • Must possess a current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Must possesses a Valid G Class License and a clean abstract
  • Physical Demands: excessive walking, standing, exposed to all weather conditions and extreme temperatures
  • Utilize two-way radio and computer applications
  • Excellent verbal and written English communications skills required. Bilingual and Multilingual applicants preferred.
  • Must participate in professional development and on-site leveling system requirements
  • Must be flexible with shift availability (security operates 24 hours/day)
  • Previous experience or training within a loss prevention/security field preferred
  • Must complete all required site training within 30 day of on-site hire date
  • Additional job-related task and duties as assigned
  • Successful completion of CPO certification within first 6 months (training material and course cost covered by Paladin)
