This is permanent position. The Specialist – Supervisor Induction program will be accountable for coach, monitor, train, and guide new supervisors through the Supervisor Underground Common Core modular programs and Vale Supervisor Induction Programs (SIP). The specialist – SIP will be accountable for the sign off of employees through the program, meeting all performance objectives and mentor new supervisors through the program.Additionally, in this position you will:

- Define, design, and deliver training and mentoring approaches for Ontario Supervisor Common core Program
- Work the with Company Signing Authority to train, coach upskill and sign off new supervisors.
- Audit, tour and guide with new supervisors providing in-field coaching.
- The Specialist will work with training departments and mines operations to develop proper site-specific training packages that ensure supervisors have knowledge and skills to perform their duties.
- Uphold governance requirements described in the organization's risk management policy and normative standards pertaining to risks that exceed Vale's materiality threshold.
- Develop risk leaders within the operating units. Support the development of personnel to achieve the role-based competency requirements defined for the corresponding level of the organization. Along with the observable sections mentioned above, the Specialist will also ensure that the Supervisors portray the following Competencies:
- Mine technologist qualification would be an asset but not required.
- Minimum of 11-15 years of experience in operating supervision roles.
- Strong organizational, leadership, oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques and experience in high-hazard operating environment(underground mining).
- Expert knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations, International standards and Injury Management., Legislated Training Programs.
- Knowledge and understanding of process safety and critical control management.
