Role Description:
Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Director of Human Resources at IBS will work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including Vice Presidents and Senior Leaders to establish and execute the HR strategy for the Finance, Supply Chain, Corporate Human Resources, Health Services, Project Engineering, Communications, and Irving Air Services departments that make up the Business Services group. Helping to identify and establish a robust talent pipeline for leadership succession across the various client groups, you will provide strategic input, leadership, and oversight in all areas of Human Resources, including workforce planning, recruitment and retention, training and development, compensation and benefits, and employee engagement.

As part of the larger Senior HR leadership team at JDI, you will have the opportunity to engage and influence the strategic direction of the Human Resources function across the wider organization. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advance the consistency and maturity of talent identification and review/improve processes within the various business functions;
  • Consult with the Senior Leadership and Executive teams to identify actions and solutions that address functional needs to improve the quality and depth of talent;
  • Coach members of the functional leadership teams to improve their skills in the identification and development of talent;
  • Lead and develop recruitment and talent acquisition strategies to be followed by IBS's HR team;
  • Manage employee relations, execute all people initiatives, deliver key metrics, and manage risks;
  • Drive improvement in engagement results and the overall employee experience;
  • Facilitate compensation review, recommending adjustments and/or changes to the compensation strategy;
  • Deliver effective talent management by supporting management, as they seek learning and development opportunities.

Your Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you are an ambitious and strategic human resources leader who has a proven ability to deliver results, and effectively lead a team of HR professionals. You have experience developing and executing talent acquisition and talent development strategies and initiatives specifically, as well as strong Generalist experience. You are confident in your ability to work collaboratively with numerous Senior Leaders, within a fast-paced environment. Most importantly, you are passionate about driving HR initiatives to support the development and success of the business.

Qualifications include:

  • 10+ years' experience in Human Resources including strong leadership experience;
  • Post-secondary education required, preferably with a concentration in Human Resources, or other related discipline with relevant experience will also be considered;
  • Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) would be considered a strong asset;
  • CPHR designation would be considered a strong asset;
  • Depth of Generalist HR experience, covering a variety of HR competency areas, including recruitment, talent management, employee relations, and compensation;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to achieve required objectives;
  • Demonstrated effective organizational, problem-solving, planning, and analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated use of sound judgment and reliable decision-making;
  • Strong organizational skills and a high degree of self-motivation and business acumen;
  • Bilingualism (EN/FR) would also be considered an asset.
