The Maintenance Worker, under the direction of the Director of Facilities & Environmental Services, works collaboratively with
the Environmental Services Team, and staff throughout the building. This role is responsible for leading, organizing &
maintaining the maintenance of the building and equipment.
Summary of Roles & Responsibilities (Full Job Description available upon request)
? Carry out assessment and preventive maintenance to all assigned buildings, appliances, fixtures, utilities and equipment
in accordance with established standards, as well as policies and procedures.
? Prepare and complete documentation such as work orders, maintenance logs, inspection reports and inventory records.
? Coordinate and provide oversite to onsite contractors as needed.
? Prioritize maintenance requests
? Perform minor electrical, plumbing, mechanical, & carpentry repair.
? Undertake some wall repairs and painting when necessary
? Interpret & modify Building Control Systems
? Assume some grounds care functions, garden watering, seasonal preparations & snow removal
? Ordering, receiving, & stocking of goods and the associated inventory control
Requirements / Qualifications:
? Grade 12 or equivalent plus five years experience in building and property maintenance or a related field.
? Diploma in mechanical, carpentry or electrical preferred and/or course in building maintenance, and/or certificates or
training in renewable energy systems considered an asset.
? Familiarity with Building Control Systems.
? Possess a full range of knowledge, ability and skills required to troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, overhaul, assemble,
install, adjust, test, maintain and document components and systems.
? Experience in basic mechanical repair, electrical repair, carpentry, drywall repair/painting, welding, hydraulic systems
and HVAC systems and ability to use the associated tools for such job.
? Passion for Green Energy, with experience in Geothermal, Solar / Battery Storage systems considered an asset
? Ability to perform physical tasks using good body mechanics.
? Well-developed interpersonal communication skills
? Must be a strong team player with strong leadership skills - works well with others within and outside the
Environmental Services Department.
? Familiarity and experience with WHMIS, JOHSC, and Fire safety training
? Previous long-term care experience is an asset
? Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and Municipal acts and regulations

Hourly Rate: $22.7183 - $23.1042
Hours: The regular hours of work for this position are intended to be Monday through Friday.
Given the scope and responsibility of the role, call-back availability is also a requirement and will be
compensated as per the collective agreement.
