Dispatcher – in yard
About the Position:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented dispatcher to join our team. As a dispatcher, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate and dispatch commercial trucks and personnel to designated locations based on the shipping department's requests and logistical needs. Your role is crucial in ensuring the prompt and efficient delivery of services.
Pay rate: $25/hr
Shift: Days Monday to Friday – start time between 4 am & 7 am
Location: Mont-Royal, QC
Responsibilities:
• Consult with management and staff in the transportation fields.
• Receive incoming service requests or orders from customers via phone, email, or computer systems.
• Determine the most efficient routes and schedules for dispatching vehicles or personnel based on customer needs, location, and availability.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, technicians, or field personnel to provide instructions, updates, and support throughout their assignments.
• Monitor the progress of service calls or deliveries and resolve any issues or delays as they arise.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including service orders, vehicle locations, and communications with drivers.
• Coordinate with other departments or team members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries, concerns, or emergencies and escalate issues as necessary.
• Adhere to company safety policies, procedures, and regulations at all times.
Requirements:
• Fully bilingual: French and English
• Computer literate
• Minimum 2 years logistics experience, preferably in dispatching
• Class 1 driver license is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, colleagues, and external partners.
• Proficiency in the use of dispatch software, and other relevant technologies.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, informed decisions in emergency situations.
