FCNB is a leader in integrated financial and consumer services regulation. FCNB's mandate is to protect consumers and enhance public confidence in the financial and consumer marketplace through the provision of regulatory and educational services. With offices in both Fredericton and Saint John, it is responsible for the administration and enforcement of provincial legislation regulating mortgage brokers, payday lenders, real estate, securities, insurance, pensions, credit unions, trust and loan companies, co-operatives, and a wide range of consumer legislation. The Commission is a self funded Crown corporation responsible for the administration and enforcement of financial consumer services legislation.

Receptionist/Administrative Support Officer - Saint John

We are seeking a dedicated professional to act as a receptionist and provide administrative and clerical support services to the Commission and Division's in our Saint John location for a 12 month contract position. This position reports directly to the Human Resources Officer in the Human Resources, Business Planning and Accountability division (HRBP).

The Receptionist/Administratrive Support Officer position is designed to manage the reception duties and support core office responsibilities and requires a proactive, organized, bilingual individual who is well adapted to multitasking and problem-solving.

Your focus:

  • Manage communication including phone calls and emails, redirect to appropriate area of business,
  • Greet in person guests/visitors of the Commission,
  • Receive and prepare outgoing deliveries; sort and distribute incoming mail,
  • Provide administrative assistance to HRBP division, including assisting with administrative aspects of various projects.
  • Manage parking passes (Hotspot) for Saint John staff
  • Responsible for general maintenance and upkeep of the Commission library

What you bring:

  • Bilingual Imperative (English/French). Must complete an oral evaluation conducted by Linguistic Services, Finance and Treasury Board of New Brunswick, Level: Intermediate Plus (2+),
  • Completion of a post-secondary specialized administrative assistant training or college diploma,
  • 1-3 years' experience as an administrative assistant or a combination of related training and experience,
  • Demonstrated experience working in a position with similar responsibilities in both official languages.

Additional Strengths:

  • Flexible and comfortable with routinely shifting demands,
  • Social skills and experience dealing with the public is a definite asset,
  • Strong attention to detail,
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment,
  • Knowledge of government office procedures would be an asset as well as exposure to website maintenance, human resource administration and records management concepts.
