Job Posting - Temporary Full-time Long Term Care Assistant
The Maritime Odd Fellows Home is a 47 Bed Long Term Care Facility located in the town of Pictou, overlooking picturesque Pictou Harbour. The Odd Fellows Home has a long history providing quality care to our valued Residents and needs a Long Term Care Assistant (LTCA) to join our care team.
The LTCA reports to and works in collaboration with the Director of Therapeutic Services and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The LTCA supports daily Resident routines and assisting with the delivery of a sensory stimulation program and promotion of resident's community involvement to enhance the cognitive, physical, spiritual, and social functioning of the Residents at the Maritime Odd Fellows Home.
Qualifications
- Keen interest and experience working with the elderly population.
- Ability to work as a team member and independently.
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis
- Time management and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with dementia an asset.
- Must display flexibility and innovation.
- Provide clear Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector check.
- May be required to wear a surgical mask.
The successful applicant must be flexible with schedule (evenings and weekends required).
