Clinical Pharmacist IE - NAPE HP
Locum Opportunity (Temporary Call in)
Location: St. Anthony
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Services, this locum opportunity is located at the Charles S Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony. The primary purpose of this position is to provide relief pharmaceutical services for the Labrador-Grenfell Zone.
Qualifications:
" The successful candidate will have experience in professional pharmaceutical practice (Health Authority experience preferred) and must be eligible for licensure with the Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board (NLPB), provide proof of membership with the Pharmacists' Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (PANL) and provide proof of malpractice insurance;
" Strong communication and presentation skills as well as an ability to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment;
" Demonstrated experience with interdisciplinary rounds, medication reconciliation, and Accreditation Canada Standards;
" Knowledge of Meditech and Kroll computer systems will be considered an asset;
" The candidate should possess a knowledge of inventory procedures, and the healthcare Group Purchasing Organization (GPO);
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct
Duties: (Included but not limited to)
" Perform clinical and distributive aspects of pharmacy related to acute care and long term care clients/residents;
" Provide comprehensive assessment of clients' medication requirements and therapy;
" Provide clinical consultation services to health care providers throughout the zone;
" Participate in product preparation requiring aseptic technique (chemotherapy, as well as other admixtures);
" Participate in the development of policies and procedures for the safe procurement, storage, preparation/use and administration of medications;
" Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds as well as provide ongoing education to other clinical services;
" Provide pharmacy coverage at the other two hospital sites in the zone as required;
" Other related duties.
Salary:
" CG-41 of the NAPE-HP salary scales $40.11- $47.30 per hour, plus an agreed locum premium rate of an additional $38/hr.
Travel & Accommodations:
" Please note travel and accommodations will be provided for the duration of the locum opportunity.
" Per diems will be paid in accordance with the NAPE HP collective agreement.
Dates:
" August 12th onward. Please advise on dates of availability.
Hours of Work:
" Monday - Friday 0830-1630 hrs
" On call shifts may be required
