We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer with working experience in Atlantic Canada to join our team in our Bedford, NS office. Our geotechnical division in Bedford specializes in geotechnical and materials engineering consulting. This division of CBCL has grown to become a leading regional provider of these engineering services to the commercial, institutional, heavy industrial, transportation, municipal infrastructure, energy & utilities, and large residential sectors.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Managing geotechnical investigation and design projects from inception to completion;
- Providing geotechnical engineering for subsurface investigations and geotechnical analysis and design;
- Developing, directing, and implementing comprehensive geotechnical field programs;
- Developing scope and writing proposals for geotechnical projects;
- Conducting and supervising various data analyses and associated reporting;
- Ensuring product quality control with adherence to company standards and industry best practices;
- Mentoring and developing the technical skills of junior team members and fostering a culture of continuous learning;
- Participating in and leading multidisciplinary teams, including providing strategic support to management on resource allocation at a project and departmental level; and
- Contributing to business development efforts and helping to shape the future direction of our consulting services.
Your Capabilities and Credentials:
- University graduate with a Degree in Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil (Geotechnical) Engineering (master's degree preferred);
- 10+ years of relevant working experience in geotechnical engineering, with a demonstrated track record of successful project leadership;
- A strong foundation in applying geotechnical engineering principles to solve complex problems;
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills;
- Ability to work and lead effectively in a team environment;
- Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle required; and
- Ability and willingness to travel.
