Social Worker I - Community Support - Regional Adult Protection
Corner Brook, NL

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants for this position should have knowledge of the regional community support system, programming and delivery methods, and advanced knowledge of adult protection legislation, process and procedures. Applicants must demonstrate sound analytical, organizational, oral communication and written communication skills. Candidates must display independence, initiative and an ability to work with others. This knowledge and ability must be obtained through the possession of a Bachelor of Social Work degree and experience in the field of community support. Candidates must be eligible for registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers.

This Social Worker I will provide specialized services for adults who may be in need of protective intervention under the Adult Protection Act legislation. This will include completing adult protection evaluations and investigations, clinical assessments, intervention, follow up and evaluation using advanced skills and specialized knowledge in adult protection across adult populations. The incumbent will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team working closely with geriatricians, the collaborative care teams, and other service providers across the continuum. The incumbent will use advanced counselling skills for the development of therapeutic relationships and may offer intervention through individual, family, and group interventions. This position will provide regional consultation to internal and external partners as required. The incumbent will also support the evaluation of the social worker role within the provincial adult protection service provision.

Hours of work: 75 Hours per pay period
0830-1630 Hours; Monday to Friday. Weekends may be required. On call and flexible hours required.
Salary Scale: $73,983.00 to $82,797.00 per Annum
