The Finance Clerk - Regional Accounting Services shall provide support and assistance for regional accounting services for schools relating to school-based and regional allocated funds. Specifically, the Finance Clerk - Regional Accounting Services will ensure all schools receive regular financial reports, assist schools in the management of their budgets and tracking the required financial reports from schools. Consistent with Department of Education and Halifax Regional Centre for Education policies, the Finance Clerk - Regional Accounting Services will work within an accountability framework to ensure schools are receiving service levels that respond to the needs of the system. Working collaboratively within the Department, the Finance Clerk - Regional Accounting Services will demonstrate a strong commitment to the school improvement process in support of student learning and reports directly to the Regional Accounting Services Manager.

Qualifications:

(a) Recognized business diploma, or the equivalent obtained through training and experience;

(b) Minimum two (2) years experience in an accounting/financial environment utilizing accounting systems, spreadsheets, word processing, database software and the Internet.

Rate of Pay: This is an NSGEU (Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union) position with an hourly rate of $25.23.
