Responsibilities

Acadia seeks an International Enrolment Advisor to identify and recruit international students who are well-prepared academically, who will enroll, and who will transition successfully into Acadia University. This role is a senior recruitment position responsible for meeting annual enrolment targets in support of Acadia's (undergraduate) international student recruitment plan. This position recruits for Acadia's EAP and Direct Entry programs.

The International Enrolment Advisor will be responsible for promoting Acadia's brand and student experience at targeted fairs, schools, tours, and special events. Reporting to the Manager, International Recruitment, the International Enrolment Advisor will recommend new university partners, oversee the development of agreements, and steward the business relationship. Fostering new and strengthening existing relationships with key stakeholder groups including target schools, agents, pathway partners and government agencies will also be a key component of this position.

Qualifications
  • We are seeking a candidate who possess a Bachelor's degree in a field related to international education or intercultural communication, along with related work experience.

  • As more than half the year is spent travelling, applicants must be adaptable to working in foreign environments and possess strong intercultural communication skills with knowledge of international education, culture, and business trends.

  • Able to engage with different audiences at an age-appropriate level, culturally aware and inclusive manner.

  • The ability to speak a second language would be desirable.

  • The ability to plan and implement recruitment missions and establish relationships with agents, educators, and partners is required.

  • Excellent presentation skills (individually and large groups).

  • Excellent organizational skills, highly motivated, and organized; able to balance priorities.

  • Candidates must also be familiar with setting strategic directions, establishing target market, and making sound budgetary decisions.

  • As first-hand knowledge of the Acadia experience would be clearly an asset, preference will be given to our Alumni.

  • Fluency in Spanish is considered an asset.
