PAL Technical Services is a leader in international aerospace and defense design, development and operation of airborne surveillance aircraft, line maintenance, heavy maintenance checks and modifications. We provide a wide range of aviation and related services to domestic and international markets.

PAL Technical Services is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Purchaser to be located at our base in St. John's, NL.

The Purchaser will ensure all parts/tools are acquired in the most effective and efficient manner possible, coordinate the repair and maintenance of parts/tools, as well as research, evaluate and purchase products and services for use within the aerospace industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Purchase merchandise, materials, components, equipment.
  • Obtain information from suppliers concerning product and/or service specifications, price, and delivery dates.
  • Ensure all applicable data is current.
  • Obtain quotes, conduct bids, evaluate costs, and negotiate optimum delivery schedules.
  • Ensure a suitable combination of price, quantity discount, product quality, standard terms and conditions.
  • Support long term agreements in place.
  • Resolve problems related to purchasing, delivery, receiving and payment to the supplier; determine source of the problem and takes appropriate corrective action.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma from a secondary school or community college in a related field is required.
  • 5-10 years experience purchasing parts - materials, components, and/or equipment.
  • Experience ordering parts, inventory, and warehouse work.
  • The ability to control, measure and regulate efficient stores inventory levels/costs based on operational requirements balanced with financial consideration.
  • Handle day-to-day logistics associated with receiving, storage and shipments, including meeting regulations with customs and controlled goods.
  • Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel are essential.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented individual that can meet regular deadlines and can manage time efficiently.
  • Experience in customs and controlled goods.
  • Exceptional organization skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
