Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are looking for top talent to join our team! We have an 18 months contract opportunity for an Analyst in Benefits Administration.
The Analyst will report directly to the Manager of Benefits Administration in our Calgary Corporate office.

Here's where you'll be focusing:

  • Analyze and Process pension adjustments through SAP uploads
  • Perform store cost analysis, providing financial comparisons between current and future benefitcosts, to assist management in decision-making and other financial initiatives
  • Responsible for analyzing updating and validating annual rate changes in SAP related toextended health care, life insurance, short-term disability and long-term disability benefits
  • Create and run ad hoc queries/reports to support management, human resources, labourrelations, third-party vendors, and other business partners as required
  • Analyze and reconcile system contributions and payments with third-party vendor invoices
  • Develop process improvement documentation and audit reports for the Benefits Administrationteam, to increase data integrity and promoting knowledge sharing
  • Perform year-end analysis and reconciliation functions, including (but not limited to) BC MedicalServices Plan (MSP) for active employees and retirees, life insurance for retail employees, retirees,and pre-lip retirees for T4 and T4A purposes
  • Analyze and complete any special projects as assigned by Benefits Administration Manager
  • Support the execution of the Benefits Administration strategy
  • dentify new business policies, processes, and strategies to improve efficiency and data integrity,in relation to employee records, Trust reporting, and premium deductions
  • Support strategic Benefit initiatives
  • Ensure data governance

What you have to offer:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a Benefits or Human Resources position
  • Degree in Human Resources or associated field with certification in Certifed Employee BenefitsSpecialist (CEBS)
  • Strong knowledge of SAP/HRIS or similar software
  • Strong knowledge of company benefits plans
  • Experience in SAP Query writing
  • Advanced Excel skills
