The Shipping Clerk supports Operations through a commitment to accuracy, efficiency and exceptional customer service. While actively contributing to a positive, productive and safe working environment.

Here's where you'll be focusing:

  • Complete and release all scheduled orders from EXE for selection.
  • Prepare trailer maps for loaders and validate the loading process using CAMS.
  • Consolidate and prepare load sheets.
  • Generate Bills of Lading electronically or manually.
  • Respond to all Customer Service inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Distribute incoming mail to appropriate customers within their delivery guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with the Dispatch Team and Logistics to ensure all delivery documentation is ready for on-time deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment according to company standards.
  • Work as a team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Answer and manage phone calls.
  • Guide all drivers entering the building.
  • Organize purchase orders and categorize by vendor and appointment time.
  • Match and verify packing slips and Bills of Lading with purchase orders.
  • Print receiving labels for purchase orders slated for receiving.
  • Check and update purchase orders in EXE.
  • Finalize purchase orders after verification is complete.
  • Modify, add, or remove purchase orders from scheduled appointments.
  • Foster positive relationships with drivers and staff.
  • Uphold a clean and safe work environment as per company policies.
  • Engage with the team to seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to all company food safety standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned.

What you have to offer:

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access) with experience in EXE, SAP and CAMS systems being an asset
  • Aptitude for understanding new technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Proven time management, organization, and multi tasking skills
  • Integrity and adherence to standards, policy, and procedures
  • Ability to Problem solve, multi task and adapt to change
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a deadline driven environment
  • Dependable, conscientious and punctual
  • Previous experience in shipping, dispatch, logistics, or warehouse operations will be considered an asset
  • Post secondary Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience
  • Experience in a team driven environment
  • Physical work including frequent bending, lifting, and reaching
  • Occasionally lift over 30 lbs
  • Possible exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, nights and weekends
  • Alertness to other people and vehicles
  • Office environment
  • Sitting for long periods of time; may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time
  • Using a computer keyboard and mouse for long periods of time
  • Various shifts including evenings and weekends
