Evergreen Home for Special Care is a long-term care facility located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. Licensed by the Department of Health and Wellness, Evergreen provides care for its residents regardless of age, sex, race, creed, and social status.

The facility is comprised of a Children's Centre which is licensed to provide 24-hour nursing coverage for 20 children and a Seniors Centre consisting of 98 residents. All residents receive multi-disciplinary care based on a holistic approach to ensure physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing while recognizing the right to individuality, respect and dignity.

The Seniors' Centre provides care to adults and seniors whose physical, mental and intellectual needs are addressed through qualified nursing care, dietary services and recreational programming within a clean and safe environment. The involvement of families, staff and volunteers contributes to the mission of meeting the needs of all residents of Evergreen.

Evergreen is inviting applicants for the position of Human Resources Coordinator.

Position Scope:

Reporting to the Administrator, we are looking for an efficient Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties. You will facilitate daily HR functions like full-cycle recruitment, staff scheduling, assisting with payroll, attendance management and maintaining personnel files. Your role also involves performing tasks with a focus to grow our organization's talent pipeline and improve our sourcing tactics as well as being a key team member at Evergreen.

The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of Human Resources as well as general administrative responsibilities. They will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the end-to-end running of HR projects and operations.

Qualifications:

  • Human Resources Diploma/Certificate
  • At least 2 years related experience
  • Experience in hiring, staff scheduling and attendance management
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in unionized environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge and skill with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills and commitment to a team approach.
  • A positive caring attitude is essential as a team member dedicated to seeking excellence.
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring residents have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
