Le Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB), Head Office, is seeking qualified and dynamic individuals to fill an English second language teacher for their Bathurst, Campbellton and Dieppe Campuses.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the responsibility of the Language Manager and according to the principles of the competency-based pedagogical approach, the main tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Teach various language courses based on current second language methodology;
  • Plan and prepare courses, develop teaching materials, assess student progress, and ensure the monitoring and supervision of students;
  • Serve on working committees at CCNB and, if necessary, within the community;
  • Consult with fellow teachers to establish productive team-teaching guidelines;
  • Assume various tasks related to the promotion and visibility of the Language Learning Centre; and
  • Perform administrative tasks.

REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree, preferably in Education, at least three (3) years' experience teaching English as a second language as well as a TESL (for the English second language teaching) or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching English as a second language to immigrants using the Canadian Language Benchmarks.

A working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Excellent people skills, an elevated level of communication skills, as well as strong leadership abilities. Be willing to undergo a criminal record check. A candidate's record of attendance, professional appearance, and consistent performance are important. Have a good performance and attendance record. A basic level in French is also preferrable.

Must demonstrate proof of Canadian residency in the CV or hold a valid work permit in New Brunswick.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

WORKPLACE: Three (3) openings: one (1) in Bathurst, one (1) in Campbellton and one (1) Dieppe
STATUS: Three (3) full-time term positions. Requires a certain level of flexibility, including irregular hours. (days and evenings), from August 12th, 2024, to April 30th, 2025
SALARY: According to the Collective Agreement in effect for the group: Education (Instructors) (From $2,059 to $3,166 per fortnight, depending on training and experience). These rates remain in effect despite the expiration of the agreement and will be revised when a new agreement is implemented.
