The opportunity

We are seeking to fill a permanent, full-time Client Services Consultant position.

We deliver pension administration services through a team of professional, talented, and dedicated individuals. We are committed to serving the best interests of our members by delivering a consistent experience that is guided by our service standards. We work effectively in a team environment where mutual accountability and positive results are measures of success.

The Client Service Consultant provides exceptional customer service to our active and retired members. Day to day, we respond to member inquiries regarding benefit eligibility and Plan rules and perform complex calculations based on our expert level of knowledge of policies, procedures, regulations, and legislation. We promote awareness and education to Plan members across the province through information sessions.

What you need to be successful

  • Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, economics, finance, mathematics, accounting or actuarial science plus three years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills as well as effective presentation skills. Bilingualism (French) is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
  • Working knowledge of pension and benefit plan text, Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Old Age Security (OAS), the Income Tax Act and other provincial and federal programs and legislation.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite, database applications, and email group applications.
  • A Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (C.E.B.S.) designation or Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) are considered assets.

In addition to an interview, qualified candidates will be required to prepare and deliver a 5-7 minute PowerPoint presentation on a topic related to pensions/benefits/retirement.

Job Status: Permanent Full Time; unionized (NSGEU)

Salary Range: $2646.00-$3086.11 (bi-weekly)
