The Department of Financial Services at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for the position of Student Finance Coordinator.

Classification: Full-time NSGEU Level 7 Position
Salary: $47,558 per annum (Step Progression $47,558 to $56,786)

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Student Accounts, the Student Finance Coordinator will provide support for the Student Accounts function including financial analysis and reporting, liaising with students and administering University financial policies.

  • Prepares, reconciles and reports on student health plan programs.
  • Prepares aged student account balance reports on a regular basis.
  • Assists with student account collections through working with students with financial challenges and preparing and delivering ongoing correspondence with students who have outstanding account balances.
  • Oversees U-PASS program, reconciles related records and makes payments to Metro Transit as required.
  • Oversees the NS University Student Bursary program reporting and analysis.
  • Coordinates the activities related to Student Loan Processing.
  • Performs various student accounts analysis required by the Manager on a daily basis.
Qualifications

Candidates must have completed a Bachelor of Business Administration/Commerce with a major in Accounting and have a minimum of two years related experience with a preference for five years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Effective verbal and written communication and inter-personal skills are essential. A high level of attention to detail and efficient time management and priority setting skills are also prerequisites for this position. Candidates must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in excel and use of technology to conduct financial analysis in the most efficient manner. Experience in using business enterprise systems for finance is required. Supporting all of these skills is a strong commitment to excellent customer service.
