Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a strategic, accomplished, detail-oriented individual to join our team as the Vice President of Communications and Community Engagement. Who you are

You have progressive experience with expertise in leading system-wide communications integration and transformation for a minimum of 25 years. You have experience leading a in a large multi-site or complex organization. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in partnership with senior leaders, boards, and government officials and departments will round out your qualifications.

You will have a master's degree in communications or a related discipline

Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.

Exposure to the public sector is helpful, as is an understanding of or affinity with the Maritime communities, culture and partnerships that define Horizon's environment.

What you will do

  • Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President Communications and Community Engagement is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and contributes to setting overall vision, direction, and priorities for the organization.
  • You will strengthen Horizon's presence in the health care industry, engage stakeholders, and promote its services and achievements to internal and external target audiences including staff, physicians, Foundations, volunteers, media, government, and high-profile stakeholder groups through strategic initiatives.
  • You will effectively lead Horizon's communication programs by building strong relationships and ensuring a positive brand image.
  • You will be accountable for the integration of internal and external communications, community engagement, issues management, crisis communications, communications policy as well as government and media relations.
  • Through your executive-level leadership, you will oversee and measure the ongoing execution of Horizon's organizational communications and reputational goals as well as creates and executes annual plans.
