The Lead, Newcomer Programs will define the newcomer strategy for Sobeys, building and executing an implementation plan while integrating into Talent Acquisition and Talent Development practices and establishing and maintaining a consistent and standardized immigration process to support teammates with permanent residency. Here's where you'll be focusing:
• Define, design and build a newcomer strategy in partnership with various key stakeholders
• Develop and manage programs focused on newcomer talent while assessing effectiveness and ensuring performance aligns with desired objectives
• Partner with the TA team to proactively research and generate new and creative sourcing strategies
• Build and maintain strong and strategic relationships with key stakeholders from immigration partnerships focused on building Sobeys brand coast to coast
• Maintain and develop immigration policies and ensure proper workflow for Permanent Residence (PR) and Work Permit (WP) applications
• Oversee the end-to-end immigration process supporting those managing the individual applications as the in-house subject matter expert including process or policy questions, and managing tracking and access to government portals
What you have to offer:
• 8 years of experience, 5 of which have been focused on program development
• High degree of cultural competence as it relates to working with marginalized communities
• Proven ability to foster partnerships, establish and maintain strong working relationships with leadership
• Experience with program development and delivering educational and presentation materials on promoting Inclusion and belonging
