Position type: Casual (approximately 9 hours per week per course)
Location: Any NBCC location (Virtual - Evening and Online Class Delivery)
Salary: $28.39 to $40.00 per hour. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $43.68 hourly, based on their level of post-secondary education.
As part of the Wesley Armour School of Business and reporting to the Academic Chair, the Instructor is responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional areas include, but are not limited to:
- Non-Profit Human Resource and Volunteer Management (Fall 2024)
- Non-Profit Organizations and Governance (Fall 2024)
- Non-Profit Financial Management (Winter 2025)
- Non-Profit Marketing and Communications (Winter 2025)
Education/Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in a relevant field.
Demonstrated experience within the above-mentioned course areas. Any prior experience in course delivery online or in the classroom will be beneficial.
Demonstrated experience with leading in a non-profit environment.
Technical Skills:
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Professional Skills:
- Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and innovative thinking.
- Self-motivated, service and results oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
- A desire for continuous learning and growth.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Assets:
Knowledge of the non-profit sector and social programs.
Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment.
