Gabriel's Pizza is looking for a confident candidate for restaurant management and long-term goals of restaurant ownership or multi-unit franchise management. The candidate will be an intuitive, engaging, and caring individual who executes every aspect of their job with pride and to the highest standards. Position Description:

The General Manager plays the key leadership role in supporting the Operations team in our Antigonish restaurant. The overall responsibility in directing the daily operations, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operations, including product preparation and delivery, customer relations, restaurant maintenance and repair, inventory management, team management including recruiting, retention and training of team members, financial accountability, ensuring that the highest quality products and services are delivered to each customer and other duties as required or assigned. The chosen candidate will participate in and identify various campaigns, strategies and plans to grow and expand the company's brand.

Reporting to the Ownership Team, the GM leads, supports and manages a dedicated team of approximately 30 employees, including an Assistant General Manager, working effectively and cooperatively with others, establishing and maintaining good working relationships through building trust, treating others with respect and demonstrating integrity.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • In this team environment you have full accountability and responsibility for the restaurant, meeting the expectations of operational efficiency, 100% superior customer service and satisfaction, community relations, employee development, sales and profitability
  • Proactively manage day-to-day operations
  • Encourage the development of restaurant personnel through the administration of schedules, training and coaching
  • Oversee recruitment, motivation and retention of staff
  • Manage all areas of operating practices including cost control and labour management
  • Handle daily cash reporting and completion of required financial management forms and reports
  • Oversee the execution of marketing initiatives
  • Oversee staff compliance with all service, health, cleanliness and procedural standards.
  • Ensure restaurant adheres to all legislative and government guidelines (i.e. proper and safe food and beverage service, AGCO, Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS, Human Rights Act, Labour Standards Code, etc.); ensure all food safety guidelines met and followed daily

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to attract/retain excellent performers - develop high performing teams
  • Minimum 3-5 years hospitality industry experience in a senior leadership role
  • High volume experience
  • Multi-unit management, Franchising, franchise management experience an asset
  • High school or equivalent
  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management an asset
  • Extensive knowledge of restaurant operations including food and beverage product and fundamental restaurant accounting practices
  • Strong business acumen, including an understanding of budgets, operating costs and P&L
  • Self-motivated with excellent organization, communication, leadership and presentation skills
  • An energetic will to succeed in a participative management role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Work/Outlook) and P.O.S. system
  • A sense and appearance of professionalism
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and improvise, while maintaining required standards and systems
  • Our Managers work flexible shifts a minimum of 5 days per week, approximately 48 hours per week
  • Flexibility to workdays, evenings, weekends, holidays and special events as required to meet operating and project demands
  • Bilingualism (English and French) an asset
  • Smart Serve certification
  • Food Handlers certification
  • First Aid and CPR certification
