ABOUT ALDERWOOD:

Alderwood is a 70 bed Nursing Home/Residential Care Facility. Our building has 6 separate home areas; five home areas for Nursing Home (11 or 12 beds) and one home area for Residential Care (11 beds). All are private rooms with private bathrooms.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

As a member of the senior management team the Director of Resident Care participates in all activities related to the operation of the organization including strategic planning, policy and procedure development, acquisition, utilization and monitoring of both fiscal and personnel resources. The primary responsibility for the operation and management of the Nursing Department, ensuring the provision of comprehensive nursing and allied health services to all residents which meet the Mission, Vision and Values of Alderwood and are in compliance with all governing regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Current RN-License with NSCN (with no conditions)

• Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to co-ordinate, supervise and manage a comprehensive nursing care program

• Demonstrated experience managing a team

• Clinical experience in a long-term care setting an asset. Minimum 5 years nursing experience.

• Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with a working knowledge of computers including Excel; Word; Windows; Power Point

• Adheres to the Director of Resident Care roles and responsibilities in the Job Position Outline

• Skilled in problem solving; flexible; strong organizational skills

• History of satisfactory attendance and capable to meet the demands of the job
