The ideal candidate
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Planning, Engineering and Development is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing both strategic and operational leadership across a comprehensive suite of services. This includes engineering and capital asset management, municipal planning and development related activities, facilities management, design and maintenance operations, municipal and environmental engineering systems such as water and wastewater, stormwater, traffic controls, transportation planning and design, and creation and monitoring of city standards and regulations related to land use, building, planning and development.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director of Planning, Engineering and Development contributes to the effective management of the City, assisting with the development of longer-term policy and planning to address Council's strategic priorities. The Director of Planning, Engineering and Development also acts as a liaison with Committee's of Council, providing expert advice and consultation regarding issues that arise.
