Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position supports NSCN in achieving its mission and strategic objectives by contributing to the efficient operation of the Finance Department and supporting the client service areas.
The Financial Analyst (FA) has overall responsibility for revenue reporting and payroll functions and provides support to other finance functions such preparing monthly financial reports, assisting with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Manages the revenue recognition and reconciliation functions within established deadlines
- Processes bi-weekly payroll
- Ensures timely and accurate reporting and payment of government reporting and remittances including HST, payroll remittances, T4's and T4A's, LTD, pension contributions, etc.
- Monitors, calculates and records LTD and pension contributions
- Ensures bank deposits are completed on a timely basis
- Prepares monthly financial statement expense reporting analysis
- Maintains staff and vendor payment information
- Prepares journal entries and reconciles accounts
- Prepares month end and ad hoc reports
- Contributes to the monthly financial reporting process
- Contributes to the annual financial statement audit
- Participates in the budget and forecast processes

About you
- Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in business, finance or accounting.
- Enrollment in CPA Designation program would be considered an asset.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification from the Canadian Payroll Association would be considered an asset.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar role
