About Us

As part of the Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services, the Digital Health division provides quality information to health professionals, the public, researchers, and health system decision makers. Through collaboration with the health system, we support the development of data and technical standards, maintain key health databases, carry out analytics and evaluation, and support health research. We support healthcare within Newfoundland and Labrador, including patients and communities through the delivery of information technology (IT) and digital health services applied in the healthcare system to provide quality care. Our mandate includes the development and implementation of a confidential and secure provincial electronic health record as well as other provincial clinical information programs, including the change management required to support adoption by end user clinicians.

About the Role

We are currently looking for a temporary, full time Senior Program Analyst to join our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) team. Reporting to the Program Manager, eDocsNL you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and recommend strategies to optimize the operations of the EMR Program.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to collect and analyze data, identify the strengths and weaknesses of the program, and perform extensive research and analysis.
  • Conduct risk assessments, determine the trends, and address issues and concerns, resolving them promptly and efficiently.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the technical and stakeholder community to represent and articulate the stakeholder(s) needs.
  • Mentor junior team members while promoting EMR policies and standards.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to program leadership team.
  • Directly interface with clinicians and key stakeholders to ensure Program alignment with key stakeholders and partners.

About You

Your education and experience include:

  • A bachelor's degree/diploma in health informatics or a Health-Related Discipline
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a health care environment or health care technology

It would be considered an asset if you have the following:

  • Change Management Certification
  • Business Analysis and/or Project Management Certification
  • Experience with the application of Change Management Methodologies
  • Experience with quality improvement initiatives in a health care setting
  • Project Management and/or business analysis knowledge and experience
  • Strong IT background and/or extensive experience with health care technology

You have the following skills and abilities:

  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and business writing skills.
  • Superior communication, interpersonal, and networking skills with the ability to foster strong working relationships.
  • Subject matter expert (SME) concerning EMR software.
  • Proven leadership skills with clear examples of leading a team of professionals towards a common goal.
  • Self-starter with vision and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders on a regular basis and recommend solutions to complex program issues and risks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Travel will be required for this position.
