Responsibilities

What you'll be doing

As the Administrative Assistant to the Principal at Akerley Campus, you will:

  • Be a central contact person for Akerley Campus and has a significant role in fostering a nurturing and inclusive campus community environment for students and colleagues.
  • Have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the office of the principal and the greater campus community through collaboration with campus the Management Team, faculty and staff.
  • Support the overall coordination of campus communications through various communication channels including campus-wide emails and updating and maintaining the Akerley Campus Connect site.
  • Provide confidential administrative support and administrative leadership such as accurately maintain the principal's electronic calendar and daily agenda, submitting travel and expense claims, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, collating data, as well as draft, proofread, and edit a variety of correspondence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to successfully coordinate, organize, and support meetings and events on campus: arrange and prepare meeting spaces, materials, refreshments, etc., liaise with guests on meeting requirements and logistics.
  • This position requires a high level of initiative with an incumbent who anticipates needs and takes proactive measures within scope of authority.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a Certificate and/or Diploma in Business or Office Administration.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of recent and related occupational experience in general office administration and/or Administrative Assistant experience.
  • Occupational experience that includes administrative support to an Executive role or a senior leader would be considered an asset.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or similar information management system would be considered an asset.
  • You are proficient in working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student and employee experience
  • You have experience in administrating projects and coordinating teams to ensure deadlines are met and deliverables are completed.
  • You are highly organized and able to coordinate competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
