This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Montreal, QC; Calgary; AB.

Here's where you'll be focusing:

As a Manager Finance Transformation with Sobeys you will:

  • Lead the implementation in one or more of the Finance areas of the ERP Program as part of the investment in analytics and technology.
  • Use your subject matter expertise coupled with passion for excellence, to delivery high quality solutions for the Finance function(s).
  • Collaborate with business stakeholder and subject matter experts to gather and analyze requirements translating into functional design for the solution working with internal technology and external consulting teams.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate the functionality and performance of the solution that adheres to quality standards.
  • Co-create training plans and materials to deliver and support end user training and facilitate adoption and sustainability of the solution.
  • Identify change impacts and work with key stakeholders in managing the change process.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Support Finance Transformation Leaders with reporting required for senior stakeholders and other key deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of organization, project teams and external partners.
  • Conduct ad hoc queries and analysis to support business functions and teams as required using advance tools (SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office, Tableau or Query tools)
  • Analyze/interpret periodic financial results and communicate insights.

What you have to offer:

Your experience and resume will show us:

  • An Undergraduate Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Information technology related is required; a professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferred.
  • Strong process knowledge in finance in a retail environment and understanding the finance impacts of end-to-end processes (e.g., Procure to Pay, Order to Cash and Record to report) will be critical for this position.
  • Knowledge of best practices in one or more areas of Financial Reporting, General Accounting, Period End Close, Fixed Assets, Consolidation and Intercompany will be an asset.
  • You are a problem solver that applies principles, such as design thinking, to understand and solve complex problems and improve processes in both creative and innovative way.
  • Business acumen to identify relevant risks and plan mitigation.
  • Working experience preferably in SAP environments (or similar ERP) is preferred with specific experience in one or more of SAP S/4HANA, SAP CAR, SAP ARIBA, or SAP BW.
  • Bilingualism in English and French would be an asset.
  • The candidate will be expected to work with peers in other provinces in the development, development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada, as well as provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office and experience with KPIs (metrics) preferably dealing with large data sets.
  • Involvement in delivery of projects, preferably for full project life cycle.
  • Knowledge of working with disciplined and agile approaches to obtain desired outcome.
  • Project management skills to plan, monitor, manage and report on workstream work.
