We have immediate openings for experienced Fire Alarm Technicians in Sudbury, Thunder Bay, and Dryden, ON.
Fire Alarm Technician Responsibilities:
- Installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, programming, and servicing fire alarm and fire protection systems.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
- Racking up panels, running wiring/cabling, installing devices and conduit.
- Working with emergency lighting and monitoring systems.
- Evaluating plans, customer requests, code, and non-conformance issues to determine specific solutions and recommendations for customers and management.
- Troubleshooting: conducting investigations of various fire alarm, fire suppression, and sprinkler systems troubles and concerns.
- Preparing stock materials for daily execution of assigned work orders and optimizing material utilization.
- Supporting taking off's and preparing proposals/quotations as required.
- Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities.
- Ensuring safe work practices are followed and safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job.
- Mentoring other team members including apprentices and field service labor.
- Participating in 24/7 on-call/call-out emergency service

- Understanding of relevant fire codes and standards
- Demonstrated mindset towards continuous learning
- Ability to use/learn technology solutions in the execution of work

- Ability to safely execute high-quality work on time, every time
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Capability to work both collaboratively with team members and independently
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and flexibility to address changing situations and priorities
Additional Requirements:
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to travel to and work out of remote client sites
- Flexibility in hours of work, including potential overtime
Preferred Experience and Education:
- Minimum of 2+ years' field experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems across various industries
- College/trade level education in Electronics or Fire Protection Technology
- Applicable fire service certifications, jurisdictional regulatory permits, and/or valid CFAA and ASTTBC
- Combinations of education in a related field and experience will be considered
