Atlantic Lottery (AL) is seeking a Compliance Analyst to work from our Moncton, NB office.

As the Compliance Analyst reporting to the Manager, Risk Management & Compliance, you will be responsible for supporting efforts to assist leaders in managing compliance risk and in the execution of AL's compliance program.

You will be required to understand corporate compliance practices in order to successfully administer the retailer compliance testing program and conduct regulatory monitoring and reporting activities.

Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day maintenance of corporate compliance activities, working within AL's Enterprise Risk Management framework, to provide independent oversight of compliance with laws and regulations, including anti-money laundering legislation, and regulatory incident reporting.
  • Provide compliance advice on corporate projects and initiatives, compliance escalation and reporting, and managing the retail compliance testing program.
  • Conduct compliance and/or fraud assessments to evaluate product offerings, contests, and promotional offerings during design, development, and implementation against pertinent gaming regulations, technical standards, and internal standards.
  • Perform occasional internal reviews, including assessing the effectiveness of departmental compliance-related procedures, and identifying concerns that call for formal attention.
  • Execute compliance efforts to ensure corporate adherence to Anti-Money Laundering legislation for the iCasino line of business, including time-sensitive reporting to FINTRAC (i.e. casino disbursements and suspicious activities).
  • Responsible for issuing regulatory reports to key stakeholder in a timely manner. Reporting responsibilities include coordinating and advising all lines of AL's business to report defects, abuse, illegalities or criminal activity to relevant shareholders / regulators within a 48-hour timeframe.
  • Administration of AL's retail compliance program, including scheduling of compliance visits, coordination with 3rd party mystery shoppers, processing/communicating compliance results, and administration of progressive disciplinary approach.
  • Coordinate with AL's Risk Management team to identify and escalate compliance risks to Senior Management and the Audit Committee via a Quarterly Risk Report.
  • Ensure corporate staff are aware of applicable regulatory requirements and implement training activities as needed.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and insights to help support compliance efforts and decision making.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A degree in business or related discipline, risk-related qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in Compliance, Audit, and/or Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Proficiency with governance, risk and control concepts and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Curious mindset that can investigate issues and develop solutions.
  • Aptitude for technology and systems that can be used to improve accuracy, increase the quantity of work audited or automate the performance of manual tasks.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older to apply.
  • Must reside in Atlantic Canada.

Professional Skills:

  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn new areas of the business and regulatory needs.
  • Superior analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, and skillful in Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong prioritization and organization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, prioritize, and competently handle a variety of activities with a high degree of accuracy in a fast paced, client-driven environment.

Assets:

  • Experience implementing or executing a corporate Compliance Program, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) legislation knowledge / experience.
  • Gaming industry experience.
