As Senior Manager Finance, Retail Payments and Unsecured Lending Finance, you will work closely with senior management, business partners and a diverse set of stakeholders providing FP&A support and delivering strategic advice that solves business/reporting challenges in support of several key projects. Leading a team of 2 individuals, and representing Retail Payments and Unsecured Lending Finance, you will ensure all financial planning and reporting activities are executed flawlessly and any project goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Reporting into the Director, of Retail Payments and Unsecured Lending Finance, the successful candidate will be able to build lead and develop a group of highly skilled individuals, foster robust relationships with partners while bringing balance and objectivity to strategic decision making.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Own all forecasting and profit plans for Retail Payments and Unsecured Lending, including Monthly and Quarterly Forecasts, Annual profit Plan, 3-Year Strategic Plan and Stress Testing scenarios
- Accountable for all monthly & quarterly financial reporting and analysis including preparation of all finance reporting packages for key stakeholders including Canadian Banking Finance and RPUL's leadership team
- Responsible for all Retail Payments and Unsecured Lending expenses and FTE reporting and forecasting
- Deliver all required Association Reporting on time and without errors in addition to tracking key incentives and agreements with Network Partners
- Collaborate with the business partners to align on forecasting key profitability drivers and in preparing meaningful commentary on submitted forecasts and plans along with building and leveraging sound relationships with business partners to further improve profitability by helping the business identify blind spots and see around corners
- Act as RPUL Finance's Strategic Initiatives lead being the liaison between finance and business partners supporting the Strategic Initiative Business Case Process and project spend reporting
- Run monthly reasonability analysis to verify and validate month-end closing is accurate
- Individual must be an expert user of financial reporting, planning and forecasting systems and tools, including Hyperion, EGL/OBI/Smartview, Excel and Power Point
- Individual will require excellent working knowledge of month-end close and reporting processes to support all necessary reporting commitments and provide in-depth, insightful analysis
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills and develops a structure that will set the team up for success, championing efficiency and automation
- Maintains an effective system of internal controls over the planning, forecasting and reporting processes and ensure that any SOX controls are addressed
- Proactively Identifies and implements process improvements and leverages digital solutions to seek ways to enhance the profit planning and forecasting processes which can include, streamlining of operational processes, enhancement to analytical capabilities, reduction in operational risk, and resolving issues related to data inconsistency among the various systems and processes
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- 5+ years in financial planning & analysis, financial & management reporting
- CPA/CFA and Business Degree or MBA, strong background in finance, mathematics, economics
- Demonstrated experience in Financial Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis
- Solves complex project issues which may require facilitation of multiple senior resources
- Excellent relationship management resulting in a proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders, mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace, execute with limited information and ambiguity
- Exemplary stakeholder management and influencing skills, capable of balancing multiple perspectives, effective at all levels up to senior executive
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and deliver high-quality results under very tight deadlines; continuously assess priorities and business requirements, and balance between regular deliverables and priority Executive requests
- Expert presentation, written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent modeling skills
- Excellent written, presentation and communication skills, ability to communicate on a broad spectrum (from operational discussions to high-level, executive vision)
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking capabilities
- Results-oriented, self-starter, with highly effective strategic influencing and negotiating skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy environment with a proven ability to meet multiple deadlines and tasks
