JOB TYPE: Permanent full-time

SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual essential

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the authority of the Manager, the criminologist is responsible for providing quality service to clients according to the identified needs. The incumbent works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and guides them in the decision of intervention methods. The criminologist participates in the planning and the implementation of the activities or program of the unit. He/she actively engages in keeping his/her knowledge and competence up to date. He/she actively participates in initiatives to improve quality of life of patients and their safety.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in criminology;
  • Years of experience related to the job would be an asset;
  • Advanced non-violent crisis intervention training (CPI) course or a commitment to undertake such a course;
  • Valid BLS certificate or commitment to undertake such a course;
  • Ability to establish internal and external partnerships thanks to their knowledge of the environment and unifying spirit;
  • Good leadership and communication skills;
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, program development and evaluation skills;
  • Strong ability to work in a changing environment;
  • Recognized ability to achieve results either directly or through teamwork;
  • Proficiency in the use of computer tools;
  • Availability to travel within the Network territory;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
