General Practitioner Oncology (GPO)Two Full-Time Salaried Positions NL Health Services , Central Zone

Job Summary
NL Health Services Eastern zone invites expressions of interest for two General Practitioners Oncology (GPO) – Full-Time within the central site (Grand Falls and Gander) of the Cancer Care Program.
The Physician will work primarily in the outpatient cancer clinic and will be responsible for medical management of patients receiving cancer care. Hours of work are normally 0800-1700 but may vary according to patient care needs.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Function within the scope of practice of a General Practitioner in Oncology to provide service to the Cancer Care Program in the central health zone.
- Handling of urgent or emergent situations in the chemotherapy areas, such as hypersensitivity reactions to chemotherapy
- Provide individualized direct and indirect patient care.
- Work Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, usually between 800-1700, but may vary depending on patient needs.
- Use and regularly monitor a healthy authority email account.
- The GPO will also be encouraged to attend and participate in appropriate educational and academic activities within the Cancer Care Program, including Oncology Grand Rounds, and Cancer Tumour Board Rounds. Participation in continuing professional development is encouraged.

Eligible candidates must be able to obtain and maintain license to practice with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Hours of work:
- 75 hours bi-weekly
- 0800-1700 hours - may vary according to patient needs or needs of the service to best utilize the time of the incumbent.

Remuneration:
Salary and benefits for this position are to be paid in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in
Newfoundland and Labrador. Starting salary will be based on years of clinical experience.
