SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY :

The Access Manager's mandate is to improve access to information for patients scheduled for surgery and provide them with support in managing their waiting time. He or she will also work in collaboration with the OR booking staff, the surgical team, and the administration to develop tools and facilitate sound management of surgical waiting lists.The Access Manager will also ensure the quality of the information forwarded to the provincial surgical registry. Other activity areas related to access and utilization may be added.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field;
  • Five years' experience in a health care field, with extensive exposure to medical specialists and managers;
  • Knowledge or experience in a perioperative environment;
  • Experience working with health information technology;
  • Advanced computer skills;
  • Knowledge of descriptive statistics, data quality and their interpretation;
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and procedures;
  • Demonstrate analytical skills and ability to make recommendations;
  • Knowledge of human resources and conflict resolution;
  • Knowledge of organizational behavior;
  • Knowledge of quality improvement principles and processes;
  • Experience developing policies and procedures;
  • Proven ability to act as a change agent and as a leader;
  • Presentation skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physically able to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
