Ambulance Operator, Temporary Call In, Emergency Medical Services, Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor
Definition of work:
Reporting to the District Operations Manager, the Ambulance Operator will be responsible for skilled work in the operation of ambulances in transporting patients while exercising care and skill in driving. The successful incumbent will work at the full scope of EMR to provide optimal patient care. The EMR must also utilize proper lifting of patients and other related duties as required.
The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Required qualifications:
* Graduation from High School with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland & Labrador Department of Education.
* Successful completion of an Emergency Medical Responder course (10-day course).
* Current Registration as an EMR with NLPR.
* Current certification number with the Office of the Provincial Medical Director (OPMD).
* A valid Newfoundland and Labrador issued class 04 driver's license.
* An acceptable Driver's Abstract from Motor Vehicle Registration.
* BLS certification.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
* Successful candidate will be required to be within a 20-kilometre radius of the base when required for standby.
* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
* A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
Hours of work: Call as needed (Shift work may be required)
Salary: CG-25 ($23.78 - $26.19)
