About Our Opportunity
Under the direction of the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner builds strong relationships within designated client groups, works collaboratively while leveraging relationships with subject matter experts and is committed to understanding the business and needs of internal clients. This role provides research and advice to leaders on collective bargaining, negotiations, labour relations, classification, compensation, ability case management, policy development, and related projects.
• Works closely with colleagues, and other subject matter experts, to coordinate HR programs and initiatives including labour management relations, collective agreement negotiations, workforce planning, classification/compensation, and organizational design and development.
• Provides subject matter expertise and services related to job content, job analysis and job description development support.
• Provides strategic advice through research and uncovering emerging issues and HR best practices. Gathers data and feedback from internal clients and use this information to work with colleagues to guide future HR initiatives.
• Provides advice on designing new processes and systems to achieve professional standards and desired outcomes. Researches, develops, evaluates, and prepares for implementation, a broad range of human resources policies and programs, including classification and job evaluation systems.
• Collaborates with internal clients to outline the organization's HR goals, identify opportunities to improve processes, and provide recommendations to improve employee engagement and performance.
• Provides specialized training or coaching in area of expertise to colleagues within the HR group and to others throughout the organization.
• Completion of a post-secondary education in Human Resources including several years of progressive, practical experience as an HR Business Partner/Generalist or Specialist.
• Working in an environment with multiple collective agreements, candidates must demonstrate previous experience and strengths in negotiation, mediation, and interpretation of collective agreements.
• Experience with job evaluation and classifications systems, preferably with HAY system preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of desktop software is required with emphasis on Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Labour Standards, Human Rights, privacy laws, and experience working with and negotiating collective agreements is required.
Assets
• Knowledge and experience in collective agreement negotiations and classification/job evaluation methods.
• Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) Designation.
• Valid Nova Scotia driver's license with access to a motor vehicle and ability to travel throughout the Housing Agency locations.

Salary Range: $76,987.99 - $100,084.88
