Clerk II - Transportation
Temporary Call In
Location: St. Anthony, NL

The primary purpose of this position is to provide advanced clerical, and administrative assignments in support of the movement of clients and freight at the Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony.

Qualifications:
" Graduation from High School, supplemented by a recognized 2-year Secretarial Science or 2-year Office Administration Diploma;
" Two years related experience including word processing, advanced levels in Microsoft Office applications, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, Power Point, Meditech and ability to become skilled at new software;
" Office Management experience, good organizational/time management skills and ability to work independently;
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
" Willingness to complete TDG training for Air and Road

Duties: (Included but not limited to)
" Manages communications with stakeholders, maintains highly confidential files, and completes travel arrangements and accommodations;
" Sorts internal and external mail, stamps outgoing mail. Ships parcels via Canada Post as required and registered mail for tracking purposes;
" Picks up coast freight from various departments, sorts and records on freight log, prepares mailbags for coast clinics;
" Assembles information and documentation;
" Contacts Air Borealis on coast flight days for routing and estimated arrival times, communicates information to coast clinics as well as to LAB staff at St. Anthony;
" Obtains commercial flight information from PAL Airlines and communicates it to Laboratory staff;
" Advises bus contractor of times and number of people travelling. Advise airport staff as well as bus contractor if special equipment required;
" Books return flights for patients that were MEDEVACed from Southern Labrador Coastal Clinics, and prepares vouchers as required;
" Arranges ground transportation for routine discharges when requested from ward clerks;
" Arranges travel for staff travelling on coast charter and prepares vouchers and ground transportation passes;
" Books company vehicles for staff and locum staff, books repair appointments for the company vehicles, books repair appointments for flight team vehicle from the airport and provides replacement vehicle;
" Provides updated information to Government Agencies when requested concerning flight schedules;
" Other related duties as required.

Salary:

" CG-23 of the NAPE HS Salary scale $21.63 to $23.77 per hour.

" Variable shifts.
