Location: Whitehills Long Term Care - Hammonds Plains
Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Schedule: Part Time
Work with fellow employees and Management to promote a positive atmosphere for residents, their families and visitors
Work with residents' family members and other healthcare providers to develop care plans
Encourage and assist in maintaining the autonomy of residents whenever possible
Maintain accurate documentation and charting for residents' files, incident reports etc.
Administer client medications according to care plan and document accordingly
Act as a resource, role model and supervisor of other staff while on duty
Procedure and policy administration
Orientation of new nursing staff
Process physician orders and ensure they're sent to the pharmacy in a timely manner
Maintain confidentiality concerning residents, staff and organizational information
Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
Minimum 2 years experience in Long Term Care setting or Home Care
Strong leadership and excellent nursing assessment skills
Current standard First Aid and CPR certification
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English
Respectful, hard working and compassionate above all else
Dependable and reliable with a good attendance record
Proof of COVID 19 vaccination
Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing
Palliative Care course an asset
Knowledge in Point Click Care electronic charting is an asset
PIECES Trained preferred
