SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY:
As a member of the Trauma NB staff, the incumbent is responsible for supporting optimal trauma care in their facility as well as in neighbouring trauma centres, as needed. Is responsible for implementing educational activities, quality improvement activities and trauma-related prevention and research activities as assigned by Trauma NB. Also plays an essential role in collecting trauma-related data in their respective facilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick;
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognized university an important asset;
- At least five years' current clinical experience in emergency or intensive care, including care of trauma patients;
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certificate or obtain within set timeframe;
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate or obtain within set timeframe;
- Emergency Nursing Certified Canada (ENC ©) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) considered assets;
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with little supervision within a specific area of responsibility;
- Ability to communicate in an effective manner with the public and members of the care team, including physicians, nursing staff, allied health care providers, managers and members of the Board of Directors;
- Ability to answer questions frequently asked by health care providers, managers, regulatory bodies or community members;
- Ability to prepare and give presentations and write articles in the required format and style;
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various components of situations that have low levels of standardization, including interpretation of various pieces of information received in writing, orally or in diagrams;
- Initiative, judgment, and ability to carry out work-related duties, including organizational skills, priority setting and problem-solving techniques;
- Computer skills for entry, retrieval, collection, organization, analysis and integration of data from various sources;
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions and data analysis;
- Proven and current knowledge of trauma systems;
- Valid New Brunswick driver's licence;
- Leadership skills to inspire commitment, respect, compassion, equity and justice;
- Self-awareness, honesty, integrity, optimism, confidence, and resilience;
- Ability to foster a shared vision, accept responsibility, and integrate evidence into decision-making;
- Ability to work independently and as a team member;
- Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
- Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
- Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
- Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
