Course Title: EDUC 42F3 FA02 - Special Topics: Teaching Business in Secondary School
Contract Term: August 15, 2023 - December 31, 2023 (Fall)

Course Description: This course introduces current methods for teaching secondary business. Drawing on relevant documents and current research, pre=service teachers engage in discovery activities examining how secondary students think about, and build knowledge and skills in, business. The overall objective is to learn how to help secondary students to grow in their ability to teach business by considering relevant pedagogies, practices, and assessment strategies.

Qualifications: The successful applicant must possess an M.Ed. or higher qualification in a relevant area. A record of academic expertise in relevant and contemporary theories related to teaching secondary business. Current and relevant professional experience with contemporary approaches to teaching secondary business education is required. Recent experience as a school-based educator is preferred. Recent experience designing, delivering, and assessing a teacher education course at a university level is preferred. Successful recent experience working independently and as part of a team is essential. The B.Ed. is a provincially accredited program. Applicants will therefore be expected to teach and collaborate within the contexts of accreditation requirements.
