As part of the School of Engineering, and reporting to the Dean, Engineering Technologies, the Academic Chair, leads the teaching and learning of their programs by ensuring that programs are developed and delivered to the highest standard of quality and consistency across the College. The Chair will participate and support in program re-visioning and report on identified trends and analysis.
The Chair's strategic contribution and operational leadership is key to ensuring the objectives of programs offered by NBCC are met through the efficient and effective management of all fiscal and human resources, while endorsing adult education principles, a safe work environment, and portfolio learning in a learning-centered college. The Chair is accountable for the day to day delivery of all programs and to a standard consistent with the overall objectives of the academic Schools and College.
The Chair is a key member of School academic and administrative teams and as such will contribute to the academic programming requirements of the School of Engineering across various campuses. The Chair will use their established relationships in their related sectors regionally and locally to identify learning opportunities and inform program development and delivery. In addition, the Chair is a member of the academic leadership team and shares accountability for ensuring a quality learning environment exists for programming.
The successful candidate may be responsible for overseeing and travelling to 4 NBCC campuses (Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John and Miramichi).
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering and/or related field.
- Preference may be given to candidates who have completed the Adult Education Instructor Development Program or an equivalent Adult Education Credential or teaching.at a post-secondary institution.

- Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License as travel will be required.
