Lunenburg County Home Support provides assistance to maintain clients independently in their own home.

The main areas of assistance are:

· Personal Care

· Meal Preparation

· Light Housekeeping

· Respite (caregiver relief)

· Palliative Care

Responsibilities:

The incumbent is responsible for the supervision and continuing education of home support workers (HSW's) to ensure compliance with service delivery standards and the provision of safe, quality client services.

Accountabilities:

Supervises Home Support Workers and students

Revises and updates client care plans

Responds to all progress notes

Organizes and attends client case conferences

Orientates and evaluates the performance of Home Support Workers

Interprets relevant legislated Acts, Regulations and Agency policies and procedures

Serves on and/or chairs internal and/or external committees

Knowledge and Education:

Strong communication skills.

Sensitivity and awareness of the needs of seniors.

Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Must have experience in managing and supervising staff in a healthcare setting.
