Under the terms of the 16th Collective Agreement, and in accordance with Article 58.10(a)(ii), the University invites applications from all qualified individuals. Course Title: EDUC 41F3 SU02 - Sociological, Historical, Philosophical Foundations of Education
Contract Term: June 20, 2023 - July 28, 2023
Course Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 12:00pm (Class Dates July 4-14)

Course Description: Enacting culturally and socially responsive pedagogy is the responsibility of every teacher. Effective teachers work to understand diverse people, histories and cultures. Using theory from education's foundations disciplines, this course provides pre-service teachers with a set of lenses through which to understand and address endemic social inequality in schools and society.
Qualifications: Master's in Education or higher in a relevant area. A record of academic expertise in relevant theories related to sociological, historical, philosophical foundations of education is required. Recent experience as a school-based educator is preferred. Recent experience designing, delivering, and assessing a teacher education course at a university level is preferred. Successful recent experience working independently and as part of a team is essential. The Bachelor of Education is a provincially accredited program. Applicants will therefore be expected to teach to the accreditation standards for this course.
