Atlantic Lottery (AL) is seeking a Research Manager. Location is flexible within Atlantic Canada with occasional travel to Moncton, NB.
As the Research Manager, you lead a high performing research team that delivers relevant insights to support Atlantic Lottery's business and strategic objectives. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing the research activities within Atlantic Lottery. The Research Manager is responsible for the research strategy ensuring alignment with overall business strategy, moderates key client meetings, manages, tracks and reports on research activities, progress and outcomes to a variety of stakeholders.

Leadership: Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals. Manages and reports on the performance of the team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and holds them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team / personal objectives.
Research Strategy & Planning: Accountable for the development and execution of the research strategic roadmap in conjunction with key senior colleagues, develop and manage the annual research calendar to ensure research supports business and strategic objectives. Manages the research budget, tracks and reports on research team activities, progress, and outcomes. Conduct periodic reviews and evaluations of efficacy of research efforts in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders. Keep abreast of industry trends, toolsets and emerging practices & technologies in the research field in order to deliver and sustain a best-in-class research practice.
Research Management & Delivery: Guides research planning using proven expertise in a wide variety of research methods. Guides the team to provide actionable, unbiased, strategic recommendations on how to move the business forward with their business and strategic objectives. Manage the process and ensure research findings, reports or presentations are announced and distributed to key stakeholders. Manages vendor contracts ensuring proper partnerships are in place to support all research activities. Seek and manage the development and distribution of new and innovative methods for sharing the findings with internal and external stakeholders.
- At least 6 years in marketing research experience in progressive roles.
- Experience overseeing research planning, analysis and delivery.
- Proven ability to lead a team of professionals to deliver on commitments with a minimum of three years' leadership experience gained through leading direct reports and/or project team
- Excellent project management skills including demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities and multiple tasks. Outcomes and deadlines oriented
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including proven success in ability to present information effectively and persuasively
- Experience in managing relationships with key stakeholders and external vendors
- Proven collaboration and negotiation skills.
- Self-starter with the drive to take initiative and act proactively.
