PAL Aerospace has partnered with SkyAlyne, the prime contractor for the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Program for the Government of Canada. This is Canada's next generation pilot and aircrew training program for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).
The FAcT Program will transform how the RCAF trains its next generation of pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers (ACSO), and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators (AES Op). PAL Aerospace is searching for an experienced Lead ACSO CQFI to join our team at the Winnipeg, MB facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The primary responsibility of the Lead ACSO CQFI is to supervise the ACSO CQFI's, support the management of the Training Program and provide training to RCAF ACSO students.
- Fill the position of ACSO subject matter expert to support the FAcT ramp up plan and transition-in activities up to Ready for Training (RFT) and Training Steady State (TSS) such as supporting courseware development, Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E) and customer acceptance activities, as well as participating in Training Development Team (TDT) and Integrated Test Team (ITT) working groups.
- Support the assignment of resources to meet training development deliverables and for the delivery of student and FIC instruction.
- Support ACSO and FIC training, including all associated activities to support the instructional mission and instruct as a CQFI on the ACSO syllabus, as required.
- Conduct the category proficiency and upgrade checks on ACSO CQFIs, as required.
- Maintain the training and standards records of the instructors.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert to support Courseware, flight operations and training delivery IPTs.
- Collaborate with various groups to manage training, scheduling and flight operations and reporting.
- Participate in Wing, Squadron and Flight-mandated briefings, participate in Progress Review Boards and Instructor Reviews, as required.
- Assist Chief Instructor and Training Manager with management activities.
- Support flight dispatching, as required.
- Travel required.
Experience:
- Military flying experience within the last 10 years with an acceptable PLAR.
- Former RCAF QFI ACSO experience within the last 10 years.
- Have not less than two (2) years related supervisory experience at the senior officer level within a flying unit or air service, whose flight operations are similar in size and scope.
- Comprehensive understanding of RCAF rear crew training system, organizations/hierarchy, and reporting mechanisms.
- RCAF/DND/GoC/industry, or equivalent, experience in general staffing duties and procedures.
- RCAF CFITES principles.
- Supporting operations and training programs.
Medical Category:
Must meet and maintain the following medical requirements:
- Maintain an unrestricted TC Category I Medical;
- Before starting the FIC Phase 2 (Conversion) and every two years thereafter, meet RCAF pilot standards on the following medical examinations:
- HbA1C, CBC, Lipids, Triglycerides;
- Ophthalmological Exam using DND form 2776;
- Audiogram, to include speech discrimination testing if below DND H2 hearing standard; and
- Other tests as required by the RCAF Flight Surgeon.
Qualifications:
- If English is not the person's primary language, he/she must pass the TOEFL with "advanced" results in reading, listening, speaking and writing.
- RCAF, or equivalent, previously held minimum A Cat QFI experience.
- Detailed knowledge of the RCAF TSD, TMP, and ACSO TPs.
- Must be flexible to work all shifts and adapt to fluctuations in shift times due to operational and/or unforeseen situations.
Desired Experience/Qualification/Training:
- RCAF Aerospace Warfare Center (RAWC) Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E).
- Experience with RCAF OT&E activities.
- Experience in Training Development Team
- CAF Joint Command and Staff Programme (JCSP), or equivalent, qualification.
- Competent in the use of MS Office.
- Bilingual or Second Language profile of BBB.
- Foster partnership and business relations with key stakeholders.
Security Responsibilities:
Incumbent must be eligible for Government Personnel Security Clearance and Canadian Goods Program.

- Preparing and cleaning the interior of the aircraft between flights to ensure an optimal customer service experience for the following flight;
- Ensuring the aircraft cabin is equipped for flight according to specifications and standards of cabin servicing supplies;
- Cleaning the aircraft exterior;
- Cleaning the interior of aircraft including:
- Cleaning Aircraft galleys, lavatory & cabin areas;
- Removing trash and debris;
- Restocking supplies onboard the aircraft;
- Vacuuming and mopping of floors;
- Participating in general Hangar clean-up, ensuring that all supplies are readily available for aircraft grooming;
- Ensure all ramp areas and supply areas are free of trash and debris;
- Improve and maintain aircraft cleanliness under often strict time constraints;
- Ensuring a safe work environment by following all PAL rules and regulations regarding workplace safety;
- Other duties as assigned.
- A strong attention to detail with a drive to ensure your role in the customer experience is performed at the highest level of quality;
- Previous cleaning/janitorial experience is a very strong asset;
- Capacity to work within strict timelines in order to maintain aircraft cleanliness standards in conjunction with departure schedules;
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated to perform and complete assigned tasks;
- A strong commitment to safety, adhering to all safe work environment standards and procedures;
- Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the aircraft environment;
- Must be able to stand, lift and bend for extended periods of time, as well as lifting weight up to 50lbs;
- Availability for shift work - may include mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays;
- The ability to work well in a team environment, with strong communication and problem solving skills;
- Completion of High School;
- Valid Driver's License, with clean Driver's Abstract;
- Must be able to obtain Security Clearance, which includes a check of your last 5 years of employment and criminal record history.
