Position Title: Automotive Technical Training Developer

Role Summary
Our client, who is a leader in the Automotive Manufacturing Sector, is currently seeking an Automotive Technical Training Developer. The team's mission statement is to develop portable skills through a structured and proven diagnostic process. Product Service Training provides training for Automotive Dealership Technicians to diagnose and repair various vehicle sub-systems using a blended training model as below.
- Virtual Classroom Training
- Web Based Training
- Hands On Classroom Training
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and research training opportunities
- Determination of appropriate training mediums within the Blended Training Model
- Collaboration throughout the training development process
- Develop packaged training courses to support the numerous training curriculums
- Research and develop repeatable vehicle faults and create supporting training documentation
- Present and deploy training to College Training Centers (Train the Trainer Seminars) to ensure that all training objectives have been met
- Post course delivery support for Training Centers
- Coach and act as a technical resource for all Training Centre Instructors
- Analyze, research and update current training courses to support changes in technology
- Remain current in Automotive Technology
- Liaise with the US Training Team on Global Training projects
- Transfer and publish French Assets
- Able to understand and relate complex vehicle systems in simple term
The Work Environment
- The applicant will work appropriately with a mix of working from home and a fully equipped garage space located within the Oshawa Assembly plant with access to vehicles
- As appropriate, the applicant will be required to drive manufacturer vehicles in support of course development
Requirements
Required Skills and Experiences:
- A licensed Automotive Technician with at least 5 years hands on experience, preferably in a General Motors Dealership
- 2- 3 years experiences serve as a technical trainer and/or course developer
- A working knowledge of past and current automotive technology
- Knowledge of General Motors processes and software applications are plus
- The ability to comprehend and conceptualize automotive diagnosis and repair processes at an advance level to develop training using the appropriate training medium
- Interpretation of Engineering level documentation (Description of Operation / Schematics)
- Display attributes of a critical thinker and leverage innovative training opportunities
- Instructional design experience
- Intermediate knowledge and application of the Microsoft suite of software
- Graphics and design manipulation (Photoshop or equivalent)
- Strong interactive training delivery skills
- Process driven with an attention to details
- Open and receptive to alternative theories and processes
- Ability to multitask while meeting deadlines
Education and Training:
- Licensed Automotive Technician.
