Job Description

The Director, Business Development will oversee and coordinate business development activities to enhance a presence in Canada for the ADGA Group brand. They will be responsible for identifying growth strategies and leading the team in generating and winning new business.

Job Description/Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through lead generation, networking and client relationship building
  • Advance and implement ADGA's growth strategy focused on expanding the firm's presence across the National Capital Region, our core target markets and Canada as a whole
  • Act as the primary resource to lead strategic pursuits with the firm, mainly with the federal government, being responsible for all elements of the pursuit, including technical and commercial components
  • Act as the primary connective node between the business development the operations functions of the business, specifically in the realm of contract management and optimization
  • Demonstrate a consistent degree of knowledge and currency on all matters related to defence and security. This includes a fulsome understanding of the competitive landscape and being current on industry trends
  • Co-lead with the VP of Business Development and Marketing in the pursuit, negotiation and management of quality strategic partnerships with government partners and OEMs
  • Support the VP of Business Development and Marketing in the development of a compelling vision for winning capture strategies including competitive differentiators and risk mitigation strategies
  • Support the VP of Business Development and Marketing in maintain an accurate sales forecast and pipeline and the provision of regular updates to the ADGA executive team
  • Support the VP of Business Development and Marketing in the shaping of client and market perspectives of ADGA capability
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as required to meet business objectives.
  • Additional tasks and project as required by the business
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in a combination of business development, pursuit leadership (including commercial/technical leadership), proposal development/review, program/project management or related fields ideally within the defence, security and/or government (all jurisdictions) sectors
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, Marketing related field, or equivalent experience in defence, security and/or government (all jurisdictions)
  • Proven track record in driving business growth and achieving revenue targets
  • Knowledge and experience in capture and proposal techniques
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Government Secret level Security Clearance.
  • Able to go onsite 3-4 days a week to our Ottawa office.
