We are seeking an experienced Facility Operations Manager to oversee daily operations at our Material Recovery Facility (MRF). In this pivotal role, you will ensure environmental safety, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while fostering a collaborative team environment. Your expertise in optimizing workflows, maintaining regulatory compliance, and driving improvements will be critical in achieving our operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the facility, including gatehouse processes, sorting systems, and loading activities, ensuring optimal performance.
- Drive continuous operational improvements to minimize handling and reduce costs while maximizing efficiency.
- Implement strategies to streamline truck turnaround times for seamless site operations.
- Identify and propose solutions to enhance overall facility performance.
- Serve as a point of contact for community relations, building positive relationships with stakeholders and customers.
- Oversee contractual obligations and ensure alignment with organizational standards.
- Enforce adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company-wide " Mission to Zero " policies.
- Prepare, analyze, and submit budget reports, benchmarking against historical data and yearly targets.
- Lead and motivate employees to create a positive, team-driven workplace culture focused on development and achievement.
- Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility through routine inspections and proactive maintenance programs.
- Handle personnel management responsibilities, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and decision-making for promotions, terminations, and compensation adjustments.
- Conduct regular safety meetings to promote compliance, enhance morale, and boost operational efficiency.
- Deliver professional training sessions and presentations as needed.
- Accurately compile and submit operational reports on schedule.
- Directly supervise 4-5 salaried employees, including managers and supervisors.
- Provide indirect supervision to approximately 50 plus full-time employees to ensure efficient operations.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or equivalent qualifications, such as a High School Diploma or GED (accredited), along with 4 years of relevant experience.
- 7 years of experience in facility management, construction, or a related field.
- Proven success in leading teams, including supervisory and managerial personnel, within a dynamic work environment.
